There are several reasons. First, so many b
ks these days are
written in an academic textbook style that is as dull as
dishwater.
The bald-headed guy with no eyebrows who looks like Mr. Clean
and lives in Utah comes to mind. (Rhymes with Lovey) His books
are sleeping pills. Most books
written by people with Ph.D's fall
into this category.
Secondly, other unread books are really just a few good ideas
hidden in a series of long stories to fill up pages. They are
simply
not worth the time investment to read. They should be a
magazine
article and not a book.
Thirdly, people often buy a
book based on the title and how the
cover looks, only to be disappointed by the contents. There
